Italy - An Exotic Holiday Experience by nitin

Italy is often referred to as the land of the romantics, rightly so one can not miss the scenic beauty that Italy has to offer. Tourists are mesmerised by the sheer diversity of the culture. From pizza's to wine and hot beaches to warm hospitality, Italy has it all. When in Italy these are a few things that you can not miss, also some places that should not be missed are Rome, Venice and Verona - that is to name a few off so many. Venice, is paradise for honeymooners who wish to travel through the historic canals swaying in Gondolas while Rome boasts of the Era of the Roman Empire. Of course Verona was made famous with tales of the eternal bond of love between Romeo and Juliet. With so much to boast of, Italy successfully captures the mind of a traveller.

Italy has set records ticking, being considered the fourth most visited country in the world. Italy has competently found its place on the globe with people and places to reckon with- who has not heard of Michelangelo, the famous artisan behind the great Sistine Chapel, in Rome, not too far behind is another personality Leonardo Da Vinci a gifted man of intelligence. While these were people who made Italy famous, Pasta a equally famous Italian dish found its way to millions of food lovers across the world. Besides Pizza now categorised as fast food all over was first made in Italy. Contrary to popular belief the Leaning Tower of Pisa has nothing to do with the name pizza. Rather it is a popular monument built years ago which literally leans and this characteristic makes it impossible to forget.

Italy is also known for its luscious wines, sumptuous olives, exquisite cheeses, and is world famous for its rich quality of foods and wines. What attracts a large number of tourists to Italy has to undoubtedly be the rich history, sumptuous food platters, the Old world charm and the handcrafted items that serve as memoirs to gift once you travel out of Italy. The concept of Agriturismo was made famous in Italy, which actually means farm stays - luxury holidays away from city life. These agriturismo accommodations have a simple and rustic appeal, while some of them can be expected to be plain luxurious accommodations. Some of the amenities provided to you would be swimming pools and riding stables. What takes the cake in such accommodations is the delicious homegrown food.

As a traveller you will be surprised to know the variety of accommodations that are made available to you, primarily an indication of the hospitality extended. Motorhomes, villas, romantic houses and five star hotels. While you get to select what describes an ideal vacation for you when away from home- Motorhomes are strongly recommended for the experience of a lifetime. Getting yourself acquainted with areas in and around Italy may not be an uphill task- some names that will often appear as strong recommendations will be: ● Napoli and Amalfi ● Tuscany ● Umbria ● Lago di Garda Motorhomes act as your home away from home- well equipped accommodations that offer sleeping bags, crockery, glassware and cooking utensils. These are well maintained motorhomes that will take you around town while you enjoy the beauty of the city in the luxury of your home.

Luxury villas at Tuscany come second best in line to help you relax and unwind. Located in extraordinary luxury estates of Italy, Tuscany is ideal when you wish to stroll across historic centers like Siena, Pienza, Florence and Cortona. When at Tuscany do not miss visiting the vineyards of Montalcino to savour some good Tuscan label wines. If you wish to shop for some commendable leather goods, villages of Chianti is the place to be.

If you select a hotel accommodation above the others then Lago di Garda has some good hotels to talk about like the Sport Club hotel located in the lushes above the Lake Garda, a perfect combination of attaining serenity amongst nature. You will get facilities like air condition, Internet connectivity and the lake view all together.

Equipped with information tit bits, your stay in Italy can be an affair to remember for a lifetime!

Title: Online Reservations in Bangkok - Book Your Hotel Room with Ease by Hedin Johan

Booking a reservation online Nowadays in the age of high tech and the internet, it still amazes most of us that we can actually shop, wheel and deal and make reservations all with the mere click of a button. Some of us though, still don't put the trust in entering their details on the internet without actually speaking to someone face to face or on the phone. Oh but how things have changed. If you possess a valid credit card, and you are booking through a reputable site, then online booking is now very simple, safe and even cheaper! So why is that? With the internet, the whole procedure is completely automated. From the moment you start your reservation, you will notice the ease in which you can glide through the four or five required steps. The automated reservations calendar tells you exactly what you need to know in regards to itinerary, including the number of days and availability just at the click of your mouse. You can even add personal requests, such as a room with a view or a room near to the pool. The confirmation comes through to your email instantly. All you need to do after that is just turn up! 50% Discount When booking on the internet, the extra costs in administration handling and staff charges are not required, this saving is then passed on to the customer in the form of an internet reservation discount. Some hotels offer as much as 50% discount when booking online. Couldn't be simpler! Or could it? Before you hastily draw your credit card from your wallets and tap into the first site you see, I want to add a few words of caution and tell you a few rules you should adhere to before signing in. Before you make a hotel reservation online, you should: 1. Always look for the contact information on the website, such as tel. number and physical geographical address. Without these you can't be sure the hotel or company actually exists. 2. Make sure you are on a "secure" website. Look out for peculiarities, the demanding of credit card and bank details by email for example, is totally unheard of! When buying or reserving something online, your credit card details are never transferred by email, they will always be submitted by a secure server like Versign or Comodo. Look for the padlock icon at the bottom of the screen. 3. Look out for hidden extras, anything that is not stated on the site cannot be charged later without your consent. Keep records of all your transactions, print them out from the webpage you have just used. 4. Use your intuition, if the offer sounds too good to be true, it probably is. And above all, "think before you click", use reputable companies and hotels, like the Tai-Pan Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand for example. One of the most distinguished business and tourist hotels around. A very attractive internet booking discount is offered for first class rooms and service second to none. Ideal for convenient access to the whole of Bangkok, the Tai-Pan Hotel is just off the Asoke and Sukhumvit roads and is perfectly located. This Green Leaf certified hotel-to mention just a few of its accreditations and set off away from the main drag, features 146 spacious rooms and suites of high class standard. Catering to the needs of travellers or business people alike, no luxury is spared for guests and the rooms. Other facilities include an all purpose gym and a pool for those who either want to complete a full workout or just relax by the poolside.

Art, Music, And Food Imaginings of Pittsburgh Holiday by Joie Charles

Pittsburgh is the second biggest city of Pennsylvania and the 22nd biggest metro area in the United States. Residents are fondly called Pittsburghers. Whilst the city is known for bridges of all kinds, it has been referred to as "The Bridge Capital" or "The City of Bridges". Since steel and iron industries once occupied Pittsburgh, its other nickname is "The Steel City."

But, the steel and iron-clad city is gone, Pittsburgh now boasts of social modernity compounded with the conventions of historic buildings. It was even tagged as "America's Most Livable City" in 2007 and "America's Best City for Relocating Families" in 2008.

But why should a vacationer spend his time in a Pittsburgh vacation?

Art for Art's Sake

* Carnegie Museums are composed of the Carnegie Museum of Art and the Carnegie Museum of Natural History. The Carnegie Museum of Art is a gallery of painting and architectural exhibits. Paintings range from the impressionism, to post impressionism, and to modernism. The Carnegie Museum of Natural History is a place for artifacts on prehistory and geographical information.

* Frick Art & Historical Center displays Italian, to French, and to Italian paintings of artist Henry Clay Frick. Aside from his paintings, it also collects Frick's automobiles like the 1914 Rolls Royce model and his restored Frick Mansion.

* Andy Warhol Museum is an art place for Warhol's pop art and movies. It also collects old and significant cans of Campbell's soup, portraits of famous celebrities, and hosts quirky performances and show screenings.

Eat Out

Pittsburgh vacation brags of eating districts such as the South Side, The Strip District, Downtown District, and Mount Washington.

* The Sharp Edge. A cozy and cool restaurant that offers food and pin ball machine for fun game.

* Pizzaiolo is everything Italian at its best - in a Pittsburgh setting. This is the best food highlight for Pittsburgh with superb servings of pizza, desserts, and a wine list of 200 Italian kinds.

* Taj Mahal is the Indian dining and culture choice to check out in the city. Voted as the Best Indian Restaurant for four consecutive years.

Music and Life

Although, Pittsburgh is piled with many nightlife clubs and bars, there is one music festival for a unique city experience of music and life. The annual event Three River Arts Festival is an organized event for music lovers and foodies. Are you one? Then, you should give your money a run for loud and live music, delectable food choices, art, and more art for your life.

I can say that a Pittsburgh vacation is not your regular vacation itinerary. Although the city has its normal share of museums, parks, wildlife, restaurants, shopping sections, and both indoor and outdoor activities, the neighborhood and building constructions of the city are already a vacation treat for everyone. Where else can you see a blend of the century-long building designs standing on the crossroads of conventionality and modern lifestyle? It is definitely just in a Pittsburgh vacation.

Title: Find Central Boutique Hotels in Bangkok, Thailand on Sukhumvit Road by Hedin Johan

Eternal Jewel City A lot of words come to mind when one mentions Bangkok, the South-east Asian capital of one of the most jewelled countries in the world, Thailand. The one thing that does surprise people who visit the region is not only its ornate historical path that unravels a labyrinth of secrecy and mysticism but also a timeless channel revealing a phronetic combination of Thai religion and spiritualism. Indeed, even the ceremonial name of the city itself spells out its culture pure and rich in depth. Translated in full, gives us the following verse-like poem: "The city of angels, the city great and eternal jewel city. The impregnable city of the God Indra. Grand capital of the world endowed with nine heavenly gems. The happy city, abounding with an enormous Royal Palace that resembles the heavenly abode where the god reincarnate reigns. The City given by Indra and built by Vishnukam." If you are looking for a mini-tour of Bangkok, aimed at painting a brief insight into visiting the city, look no further. From the moment you arrive at the new state-of-the-art Suvarnabhumi international airport, you will notice Thailand is definitely the "land of smiles", the broad smiles you'll receive from the Thais of all walks of life really are genuine! After checking-in to your centrally located hotel, you'll be able to connect to almost anywhere within the city. During your stay in Bangkok you must visit the Grand Palace complex and surrounding Sunamluang Park Gardens. The complex contains the famous Temple of the Emerald Buddha which reveres the holiest of relics; a 45 centimetre Buddha carved in green emerald. The complex itself is the official home to the King of Siam and you can also see the Royal Funeral Hall and Royal Coronation Hall within these walls. Outside the complex and surrounding the Sunamluang Park are markets and boutiques allowing you to pick up those uniquely Thai gifts such as handicrafts, Thai antiques and Thai sweets. Gentle Sunset and Sunrise Cruise Returning to your hotel in the late afternoon gives you time for a room-break before going out for your Bangkok Dinner Cruise on the Chao Praya River. This cruise takes you for a gentle slow ride up the Chao Praya River from sunset and onwards, passing the Temple of Dawn followed by a magnificent twilight view of the Grand Palace Complex. An idyllic way to unwind. You are then guaranteed a perfect night's sleep in the comforts of your air-conditioned suite room. The following morning will mean an early rise if you are going to catch sunrise at the famous floating market; Thai style canoes laden with colourful fruits and vegetables, meats and sweets and freshly cut flowers are on sale as the boutique-boats gently glide up the canals for all who wish to buy and see. After another room-break at the hotel, the afternoon agenda offers the beautiful Rose Garden Tour which includes not only the splendours of the gardens, but also a chance to see different styles of Thai housing, Thai handicrafts and how they are made. More boutiques allow the visitors to buy those special souvenirs, memories of a trip you won't want to forget. Then back to your hotel for a Thai or a Japanese style gourmet cuisine dinner.

Hotels Ideal for convenient access to the whole of Bangkok, the Tai-Pan hotel just off the Asoke and Sukhumvit roads is perfectly located. This Green Leaf certified hotel-to mention just a few of its accreditations and set off "away from it all", features 146 spacious rooms and suites of high class standard. Catering to all the needs of travellers or business people alike, no luxuries are spared for guests and rooms. Other facilities include an all purpose gym and a pool for those who either want to complete a workout fix or just relax by the poolside.

Kolomenskoe - Tsar Residence In Moscow by Winston Crown

Kolomenskoye is located in a wonderfully picturesque spot, on a high, craggy bank of the Moskva River, with a spectacular view of Moscow and the surrounding broad valleys and fields, and of the Nikolo-Ugreshki Monastery on the other side of the river. It is one of the oldest populated areas in what is today Moscow: people have been living here since the VIII Century B.C.

The protective walls of some ancient settlements have been preserved around Kolomenskoye and the nearby Dyakov ravine, and the ravine still shelters the mysterious age-old Zmeiny Kamen (snake stone). In pagan times, it formed the center of a religious temple, and its legendary magical powers are remembered even now. Magic rites are still celebrated around the stone today.

In the XIV Century, during the time of Ivan Kalita, this area became the favored suburban residence of the grand princes of Moscow, and later of the Tsar family, and eventually a palace with all the necessary trappings and accoutrements was built here.

In 1530, in celebration of the birth of Ivan, the long-awaited heir to Tsar Vassily III, construction began in Kolomenskoye of the Church of the Ascension, which would later be hailed as one of the most perfect and poetic churches, not only in Moscow, but in all of Russia. Young Ivan meanwhile grew up to become Tsar Ivan IV, known to history as Ivan the Terrible. The Church of the Ascension was one of the first to be built in the emerging style just coming into fashion in Russia at the time. It is believed the architect was an Italian, who also directed the building of the fortress wall that surrounded Kitai-Gorod (walled city) in Moscow.

The church in Kolomenskoye is a giant tower, 62 meters high, built without internal supports or columns. The dynamics of the size, the symmetry, and the harmony of the entire structure evoke the image of a gigantic crystal growing out of a massive base. During the construction of the church, the high, steep bank of the river was built up, producing the effect of a natural pedestal blending into a cohesive whole that seems to grow out of the surrounding landscape, and creating an architectural dominance of the place, which can be seen easily for many miles around. The unique power of the Kolomenskoye church makes the modern mind think of a space ship poised for takeoff. This brilliantly conceived shape is an ideal match for the theme of the Ascension of Christ, to which this church is dedicated.

The walls of the church are extremely thick, reaching 2.5 to 3 meters in places. Inside is a staircase that ends at the base of the tower. A thin ribbon of a ladder descends from the cross, and leads to a circular chamber above the nave. In the XIX Century, local farmers would compete on holidays to see who was the speediest and most agile in climbing this ladder.

Atop a gallery on the eastern side is the Royal Palace, adorned with sculpted white stone, from which tsars watched the military maneuvers and falcon hunts that unfolded on the opposite bank of the river.

The Tsar Kolomenskoye residence was torched when the Tatar Khan Kaza-Girei invaded Moscow. Reconstruction did not begin until the late1630s, under Tsar Mikhail Fedorovich Romanov, and the process stretched out over a thirty-year period. Only in 1671 was the new and luxurious residence, a veritable miracle of architecture, completed. The new structure was a complex of seven independent palaces built entirely of wood, and allocated to various members of the Royal Family. Countless galleries and chambers interconnected the individual palaces into a cohesive ensemble. Each palace was lavishly decorated, and each had an original roof in the shape of a barrel, a dome, or a cube. The roofs were covered with wooden tiles painted in green, and gilded in places. The tall domes were surmounted by Russian double-headed eagles or multicolored weathervanes. The numerous gilded cornices and lattice-work crests strengthened the impression of an endless variety of shapes. The palace had 270 rooms and 3,000 windows with mica panes, and jambs and lock-plates covered by complicated latticework and painted in brilliant colors.

The Kolomenskoye Palace played an important part in the life of Peter the Great. He was often brought here as a child, and visited frequently as an adult.

In the XX Century, Kolomenskoye became a historical museum and reserve, and boasts a splendid collection of Ancient Russian icons and folk art and a number of artifacts from the Tsar former residence. In the 1960s, several wooden structures, considered important from the architectural as well as historical points of view, such as wooden towers, barrels for the fermentation of honey, and an Arkhangelsk house in which Peter had once stayed, were shipped to Kolomenskoye from various parts of Russia. All these exhibits are on public view.

Bormio Ski Resort: Europe's Snowy Garden by Jonathan Swift

Bormio is indeed a microcosm of Europe. This new ski resort is Europe's snowy garden. Nestled in the midst of the Stelvio National Park, which is adjacent to the Swiss National Park, the new ski resort in Bormio provides the most breathtaking picturesque natural setting. There is a possibility that tourists will forget their skis and cling to their cameras because of the numerous photo opportunities.

However, the beautiful setting is not the only reason why the new ski resort in Bormio is considered a micro-universe of Europe. The place is steeped in culture and traditions. At the old town, the zigzagging streets are lined with genuine trattorias, the Italian taverns that serve food that equal the quality of gourmet restaurants but the atmosphere is more casual and less snooty. Trattorias are usually run by families and printed menus are rarely found. But the best local wines are always available.

The new ski resort in Bormio also reflects Europe's leadership in the hotel industry. The hotels in the area offer luxurious accommodations and impeccable service. These perks are rarely expected from an almost hidden quaint Italian village. The best part for people who are planning to take a vacation in this new ski resort is that the hotel rates are affordable.

Similar to Europe's collage of the old and new, the new ski resort in Bormio has its "old town" adjacent to the "new town." The new town offers state-of-the-art skiing facilities as well as numerous and conveniently located lifts. For beginners, the new town has several ski schools. The Italian instructors are patient and knowledgeable. And there are numerous ski runs that are especially constructed for beginners.

Europe has always been considered to be steeped in history. The same is true for Bormio. The new ski resort provides its visitor access to three thermal centers that were discovered during the Roman times. These thermal centers have a total of 10 hot springs. All around Bormio, there are wine vineyards that carried on the historic European pride of wine making. There are medieval houses, churches, and towers. In fact, many locals in Bormio claimed that the area was first inhabited during the Bronze Age.

All these are just side attractions in the new ski resort in Bormio. The main attraction, of course, is the network of ski runs. There are ski runs for all levels of skiers, from beginners to experts. There is plenty of snow due to its geographical location. And this leads to a year-round skiing holiday. People can visit the new ski resort of Bormio at any time of the year to ski, to ride on mountain bikes, to snowboard, and to spend a fun holiday.

Will this new ski resort offer excitement to expert skiers? It is best to visit Bormio during the World Cup Downhill Ski Race.

Looking for a hip vacation? Try Santa Monica by Cary Ordway

Maybe the coolest California vacation you could take is a visit to Santa Monica, but be prepared for some very hot fashion and dining trends.

There are 400 restaurants around here, a lot of them considered "trendy" or "hip.". Throw in a few art galleries, some luxury hotels and - oh yes - celebrities, and you have the makings of an eye-popping diversion from your everyday hometown.

Our recent visit to Santa Monica reminded us of why we moved to California. The weather was one of those clear-as-a-bell L.A. days that do come around more often than you might think, the haze having been efficiently removed by some winds and moisture the day before we arrived. It was reminiscent of a trip years ago we took from the soggy Pacific Northwest to Los Angeles that introduced us to what bright sunshine was all about. We couldn't wait to return and eventually relocated to Southern California to get our regular dose of California sun.

Such weather shows off Santa Monica as it was meant to be. The views from Palisades Park are breathtaking and take in not only the expansive beaches but such distant features as Malibu on the north and even Catalina Island to the southwest. It's no wonder that half of L.A. seems to be down here jogging or walking. Wide, tree-lined and well-landscaped Ocean Avenue stretches along the coastline offering about as pretty a downtown street as you'll see considering this is all modern office buildings and not historic mansions.

The Santa Monica Pier is the dominant feature on the water's edge - and also over the water -- and is a favorite for families. We lingered with our five-year-old in Kids Cove, the part of the pier's Pacific Park that has kiddie amusement rides and, when all was said and done, our daughter declared her time on the pier "the best day ever!"

But the Santa Monica Pier can also be very adult. During our visit a local anti-war organization had put up more than 2,000 white crosses on the beach to help people visualize the number of casualties from the war in Iraq. While most crosses didn't have names, many of them did and it was obvious that grieving families had brought flowers and photos to create makeshift memorials on the beach.

Just up from the pier are blocks and blocks of shopping in the popular Downtown Third Street Promenade, an area where city fathers have taken a street and turned it into a pedestrian mall. There are fascinating shops and an unusual number of movie theaters along this walkway that seems to attract people from all walks of life - young and old, wealthy on down to the homeless. On weekends there is always an assortment of street musicians and entertainers willing to do just about anything to get a tip and a warm round of applause.

Many of the city's restaurants are located in Third Street downtown area, although many others are spread about in various parts of the city. Our dinner choice, Thai Dishes, actually is about 20 blocks off the beach in the mid-city area and turned out to be a surprisingly affordable spot to enjoy a wide selection of expertly prepared Thai entrees. It's not formal, but it's good.

If you're looking for trendy - oh, there's that word again - the place in Santa Monica to look is Montana Avenue. There is a 10-block section of this street that has become the center of the universe for celebrity-watchers because this is where we are told the famous like to come out and be semi-real people. The businesses along here are kind of an eclectic collection of specialty stores and quiet little sidewalk cafes and more nail salons per square mile than anyplace west of New York City.

It's impossible to walk up and down Montana without wondering if that young 30-something "dressed down" with jeans and a pullover sweatshirt is really some starlet taking a break in between movie shoots. Writer Irene Ricasio listed several local celebrity haunts in a recent article for the New York Post. "If it takes you more than 24 hours to see a star in Santa Monica" says the article, "you're not looking." The closest we came was seeing an obvious paparazzi stalking Montana with his camera and two-foot-long telephoto lens. No doubt someone had tipped him about a "sighting."

The cool factor also comes from Santa Monica's art world where the rich and famous buy while average working stiffs look and wish they could buy. According to the Santa Monica Visitors Bureau, the area is "exploding" with avant-garde galleries, museums and public art. In fact, the city averages more than 10 galleries per square mile and has a total of 38 public works of art.

The words "trendy" and "hip" can also be used to describe many of the lodgings in Santa Monica - especially the small out-of-the-way boutique hotel where we stayed most recently. The newest hotel in Santa Monica, the Ambrose is just 77 rooms and is located about a mile and a half from the beach in a quiet residential area of Santa Monica. The hotel is the brainchild of Deirdre Wallace, a 31-year-old who designed a hotel like she would have wanted during the years she was traveling and working in the film industry. The result is an impeccably decorated, thoroughly updated hotel that pays special attention to detail.

For example, the continental breakfast - included with your room - is catered by Rockenwagner, one of the local celebrity chef eateries. The rooms are done in dark brown and soft gray-green tones and furnished with stylish cabinetry, tables and chairs. The beds have just enough firmness and are decorated with Custom created Matteo Italian bed linens and duvets. Each room was designed with Feng shui in mind which, in our case, included a scenic fourth-floor view of Santa Monica and the Pacific Ocean.

The Ambrose could just as well be a health retreat. No candy and chips at this honor bar -- more healthy fruits and nuts, vegetable chips and other items are featured for your between-meal snacks. Instead of soda water, it's vitamin water. Another product on hand in your room is the Organic Honey Sugar Glow for your skin, or perhaps you'll want to try the Power Plant Elixer Tonic.

There is also a gym on property that includes a Stairmaster, elliptical machines, pilates mats, balance balls, a ballet bar and a fitness library. If you want to read about something other than fitness, the Ambrose also has a cozy fireplace library with a variety of reading material.

The Ambrose will give you an experience you'll remember, perfect for those Monday morning conversations around the water cooler.

Arkansas Attractions: Discover the Beauty of the Natural State by Kelley Falgout

Arkansas attractions draw millions of visitors to the state each year. From scenic byways, wildlife preserves, and family theme parks to big city attractions like the Clinton Library and the Little Rock Zoo, Arkansas offers something for everyone. However, when it comes to planning vacations, Arkansas tends to fly under the radar because so many people don't have a clue about the wide variety of activities available there or the incredible affordability to do them.

The "Natural State" is probably best known for being blessed with abundant natural resources, including lakes, clear streams, forests, wildlife, rich farm lands and scenic vistas. With its' six national park sites, 50 state parks, 2.6 million acres of national forest lands, 13 major lakes, and two mountain ranges, Arkansas provides some of the best outdoor experiences in the country.

Arkansas attractions also include its friendly people that fill wonderful towns like scenic Mountain View and the village of Eureka Springs, which is the only city in the country whose entire downtown area is on the National Register of Historic Places. Probably one of the most famous cities in the state is beautiful Hot Springs, which home to some of the some of the oldest and best natural spas in America.

Did you know that Arkansas is the only diamond producing state in the United States? The Crater of Diamonds State Park, located in Murfreesboro, Arkansas, is the only place in the nation where you can dig for diamonds and keep what you find. Over 75,000 diamonds have been found by lucky visitors since it became a park, the largest being a 16.37-carat white diamond found by a visitor from Amarillo, Texas. That sounds like a great souvenir!

Arkansas is also home to dozens of upscale dining establishments with impressive food and wine pairings as well as thriving cultural communities that include museums, performing arts centers, historical sites and sports teams. Tours and scenic drives make for a fun day, as does a tour of the Clinton House Museum or the Arkansas Air Museum. If you want to take a walk on the wild side, you can visit the Little Rock Zoo, a nationally recognized 40-acre garden with approximately 170 species represented.

Arkansas theme parks are also great places to visit on your trip. One of the most popular attractions in Hot Springs is the 70-acre Magic Springs and Crystal Falls theme park. This combination amusement park and water park is the largest entertainment package in the state of Arkansas and includes thrill rides such as the "Gauntlet" inverted roller coaster and the classic wooden coaster, "Arkansas Twister".

Wild River Country, Arkansas' largest water park at 29 acres, features over 20 rides and attractions like a wave pool and a 600-foot winding tube ride. You and your family can have fun in the activity pools, ride the waves, speed down a water slide, or just drift along on the Lazy River, soaking up the carefree Arkansas atmosphere.

Arkansas is full of color during every season and the climate is humid and sub-tropical. There tend to be very hot and humid summers, which is great weather for Arkansas theme parks and water parks, followed by mild winters. You may want to visit during the Fall and enjoy the splashy color of autumn in Arkansas. The color change begins in early October in the Ozarks of northern Arkansas and moves slowly to the south until it reaches the peak of color in late October and early November.

No matter the time of year your vacation time falls in, consider discovering all the wonderful and diverse Arkansas attractions on your next family adventure. I promise you won't be disappointed!

Holidays in Ibiza by Dan Williams

Ibiza is a small island just 45kms wide and 25kms long, one of the Spanish Balearic Islands just 2hrs away from the UK on a cheap Thomas Cook flight.

It is an Island of contrast in its appeal as it makes an ideal relaxing destination for those wanting a quiet holiday on one of its 30 or more beaches yet it is also well known for being one of the hottest places in Europe for the club scene.

Ibiza has a rich history and like the other Balearic Islands, Majorca and Minorca, it has been invaded by a number of different settlers over the decades. The Carthaginians, the Greeks, the Romans, the Arabs and the Catalans, have all left their mark on the Island. Napoleon was born on a small island just off the San Antonio coast. Since the Catalan conquest in the thirteenth century Ibiza has remained under Spanish control and largely unaffected by world political events. Most of the architectural influences of the Romans and Arabs are long gone, but you can still find some of the Pirate towers that were built along the coastline to protect the islanders from the frequent raids. Towers would send signals between one another to warn islanders of impending danger allowing them to seek shelter.

As you would imagine with all the different cultures the Island is rich in folklore and in fact the Phoenicians believed the island to be blessed by gods and have magical powers. The small island of Es Vedra, rising from the waters off the Ibiza coast supports no living thing. The Carmelite priest Don Francisco Palau recorded mystical revelations and meetings with 'unearthly beings surrounded by light' while meditating there and gigantic circles of light rise from the sea which have discouraged fishermen from this area. A strong magnetic force is said to emanate from Es Vedra, attracting unexplained phenomena.

'Ibiza will be Earth's final refuge' - predicted Nostradamus the 15th century French astrologer & physician. When nuclear disaster wipes out most life on Earth, the peculiar prevailing wind patterns over Ibiza will ensure that it is the sole remaining life-supporting environment.

Artists and sculptors love to come to Ibiza for the light and climate are ideal for them. There are a number of galleries on the island of artists from all over the world.

Ibiza has some wonderful beaches and hotels and is perfect for a family holiday. Boat excursions, water sports, adventure sports, walking or just plain sunbathing make Ibiza the perfect holiday destination. Accomodation ranges from self catering apartments through to top class hotels and private villas.

If you are into the clubbing scene then you will have already heard of Ibiza's reputation as the clubbing centre of Europe....overground, underground, rock, house, hip hop, techno, electro, r'n'b there is music for all and Ibiza has the infrastructure to support this in a very professional way. There are specific holidays for clubbers with priority tickets to clubs and prearranged transport to get you home in the early hours of the morning. Celebrity DJs from around the world play in the huge clubs guaranteeing top quality entertainment. The whole club scene in Ibiza has taken on a more sophisticated slant in some venues as they move to more theatrical staging. There's a distinction between the club nights being promoted and the venues they used with famous promotions like Cream and Manumission both hosted at the Amnesia club at the moment. Other recognised venues include Pacha which hosts the Subliminal parties and El Divino which hosts the Hed Kandi nights.

It may not be a big island but Ibiza makes up for that in its diversity, friendly welcome and choice of holidays, so book a cheap flight through one of the many tour operators flying to the island and enjoy a summer's break in Ibiza.

Needles Park at Alum Bay- The Ideal Family Holiday by artavia.seo

The original lighthouse here was built in 1785 believing that it was too high above sea level to be usable, it was abandoned and a new one was built. The name 'Needles' is supposed to come from a thin rock pinnacle that was a little north of the present central rock. This needle-shaped rock was a hundred and twenty feet and was called 'Lot's Wife'. In 1764 it collapsed into the sea so loudly that it was supposedly heard many miles away! The stump can still be seen at low tide although it forms a dangerous reef.

The present lighthouse, is near the base of the Needles group. The lighthouse was built in 1859 with the light eighty feet above the high tide mark and can be seen 14 miles away at sea. Alum Bay is also known for the early days of radio transmissions. The first wireless transmission was actually sent from here in 1897 by Gugielmo Marconi. A monument now stands and provides a detailed history of Marconi and the role played by Alum Bay.

How to Plan For a Camping Trip by artavia.seo

It is important to consider what type of camping you want to do. You can go all the way and hike to a campsite in the woods with everything you need in a backpack on your back and pitch a tent and catch your food. Or you can take an RV with a bathroom and kitchen that you can plug into at a campsite and still get the feel of the great outdoors with some of the modern conveniences of home. Once you decide what type of camping you are considering and where you would like to go you need to consider how many people will be on the trip with you.

When it comes to cooking when you are camping, it is best to keep everything as simple as possible. Even if you are at a campsite they may not provide facilities for cooking. If you do plan to stay at a campsite during your trip, it is very important to check ahead of time what type of cooking, water and electrical options are available and what is and is not allowed at the campsite. A first aid kit is a crucial factor when camping. Make sure it is stocked well and easily accessible at all times.

Travel to Uzbekistan by Zaripov Shukhrat

Travel to Uzbekistan or as overeat water-melons and not to die :). Each former Soviet citizen, probably, has though what that representation about Uzbekistan. Many will tell that supposedly the basic feature of Uzbekistan are full insanitary conditions, bearded mojaheds with the big knifes which are scurrying about on streets and during hot time modestly having a drink hot green tea under a shade of a century mulberry, peacefully smiling to passers-by. Yes certainly it is all beautifully and accurately keeps within a stereotype. But! It not so! Uzbekistan has strongly changed during the last years. It is possible to tell that Uzbekistan and a traditional way of life of inhabitants of Uzbekistan starts to change for the better cardinally or the history will show the worst to us only. Meanwhile Uzbekistan is the country of strong contrasts where you can see prosperity of capital and poverty of the remote areas of southern areas. Also you will be pleasantly surprised, having heard, in such cities as Bukhara and Samarkand not Uzbek, but the Tadjik speech, in the Tadjik language by modest calculations speak more than 60 percent of inhabitants of these cities. The basic income item in such tourist cities as Khiva, Samarkand and Bukhara is a transport, restaurant and hotel small-scale business. In Bukhara you are surprised to how small children can speak with ease several world languages, in a word "tourism" in Bukhara it is more than tourism. The cultural life of Uzbekistan is rather various, in the West you will visit Nukus where will get acquainted with traditions and customs of karakalpakians. Hardly to the south in the Southwest you will visit on a visit at khorezmians too different strongly from traditional Uzbeks and having the way of life. In Khiva - in a fantastic city not touched by a civilisation you completely plunge into atmosphere of an ancient city from a fairy tale "One thousand and one night". Seeing Alaska by Ferry - The Alaska Marine Highway by Ursula and Eldrid Retief

The Alaska Marine Highway is without doubt the most unique highway in the world. Its scenery is certainly mesmerizing.

How many other highways can you drive along and see, often at the same moment, snowcapped mountain peaks, ice-age glaciers, hillsides blanketed with spruce and hemlock, tranquil fjords, beaches and streams?

Where else could you see otters feeding on kelp beds, fur seals, killer whales breaching almost within touching distance, sea birds and bald eagles perched on their nests gazing into the distance?

The Alaska Marine Highway System has ferried cars and passengers to some 32 communities in Alaska, British Columbia and the state of Washington for nigh on 50 years. The 11 ferries are a lifeline for the isolated fishing and logging communities along the south-eastern Alaskan shoreline. Other popular destinations visited by many Alaska Marine Highway travelers include Anchorage, Denali National Park, Fairbanks, and the Matanuska-Susitna Valley.

But the route is more than that. It is a cheaper alternative to the expensive cruises in these waters. The ferry service gives passengers greater freedom than they would have on a cruise ship. The Matanuska carries 499 passengers, and provides 4 four-berth, 21 three-berth, and 80 two-berth cabins. The cabins may not be as luxurious as a cruise liner's, but it's a lot cheaper, although meals are extra.

The ferry car deck holds about 88 vehicles (these numbers vary from ferry to ferry). Drivers can plan their own itinerary and connect with other ferries to explore off the beaten track. Take your car to Skagway, Alaska, for example, and drive home via the Alaska Highway.

So come aboard the "Matanuska", named for an Alaskan glacier, at Bellingham, Washington State, about 80 kilometers south of Vancouver, British Columbia, for the eight-day return trip along the Inside Passage, stretching 1,700 kilometers and wending its way along the coast through more than 1,000 islands.

The first voyage of discovery is the ferry itself: a cocktail lounge, a gift shop, a cafeteria, and a huge forward observation lounge.

The upper deck has a glassed solarium and a lounge with reclining seats used by travelers who don't want to spend their money on a cabin, or by those doing a short hop. The airline-style chairs are comfortable enough for a night's sleep. and there are showers in the washrooms. (Public showers are available on all vessels except the Lituya, Chenega and Fairweather.) In summer, campers even pitch their tents on the upper deck.

The Matanuska does not have dining room service but the self-service lineup in the cafeteria moves quickly (the M/Vs Columbia and Tustumena have full-service dining rooms). The menu is vast and reasonably priced; portions are also large (for size, try the omelettes for breakfast). There are at least three main dishes every lunch and dinner, often the freshest of locally caught salmon, halibut or red snapper, as well as fresh salads, sandwiches, soup and fast-food orders such as burgers and French fries.

We're at sea for 36 hours before touching on the first port of call - Ketchikan, Alaska's southernmost city. It is strung out for kilometers along a waterfront, most of it supported on pilings above Tongass Narrows. The cross streets are often simply wooden steps climbing the steep hillside.

If the ferries are running a bit late, you might not have more than an hour or two ar each stop. Keep this in mind. The ferry does not wait on slowpoke passengers.

Ketchikan tourist sights include wonderful shopping, Dolly's house on Creek street, the home and working place of the town's last "madam" and a museum. Along the waterfront are seaplanes and boats serving the logging camps and other settlements.

Most of Sunday is spent at sea relaxing and sightseeing - often with calls from the bridge to alert you to the occasional killer whale or other sights.

The next stop is Wrangell, the only community to have the flag of three nations flying over it. Wrangell began as a stockade built by the Russians in 1834, was leased six years later to the British Hudson's Bay Company, and finally bought by the US in 1867. Gold miners headed from there for the Klondike and Cassiars. One stop worth making is at the beach to see the petroglyphs carved by prehistoric Indians.

Later the ferry stops at Petersburg, home of the largest halibut fleet in Alaska and proud of its Scandinavian heritage. Early next day it's Juneau, capital of Alaska - and you can see the Mendenhall glacier as the ferry approaches the terminal.

The terminal is 22 kilometers north of Juneau, but there is a good minibus and taxi service to town, a bustling community long before gold was discovered in 1881. A walking tour will take you past many historic sites; you can stock up on gold nuggets and fossilized walrus tusk jewelry. The world's largest concentration of brown bear lives on Admiralty Island, located just 10 minutes from Juneau.

Later in the morning the ferry heads to Haines, originally a trading post. From here, it's only an hour to Skagway which, wonderfully preserved and restored, today still resembles the gold-rush town it was at the turn of the century - the main gateway to the Klondike, 800 kilometers to the north.

From Skagway, the ferry retraces its route to Haines and Juneau, then detours to Sitka, once the Russian capital of Alaska. Mount Edgecombe, an extinct volcano, towers in the background. The Russian influence can be seen everywhere in Sitka: Visit the onion-domed St. Michael's Cathedral, for instance, a fine example of rural Russian church architecture.

Many of the Alaska Marine Highway's ferries have theater areas that show films of general interest and documentaries on Alaska and the outdoors and often provide special educational and entertainment programs.

As though there isn't enough to see and do on the way.

Lovely Lippe by Caron Bednorze

The region of Lippe stretches from the west bank of the river Weser to the southern part of the Teutoburger forest and its history can be traced back to the 12th century. One of the first contributions to the settlement of the East-Westphalia - Lippe was the location of the seat of the Bishops in Minden or Paderborn. The first small markets emerged and later these grew into commercial and trading settlements. Successful trade with distant parts led to the establishment of towns and the economic wellbeing led to a growth in population. During the 12th and 14th century a large number of towns were founded by the lords of the region. Protected by strong walls and ramparts it became almost impossible for the enemy to enter or threaten the inhabitants of these towns.
The rulers of this region were almost completely desolated by the Soester Feud of 1447. This was also the period in which many convents were established. During the 15th century about 200 towns belonged to a trade and business association which not only had significant economic power in the region, but also had its own armed forces at its disposal. Today the beautiful houses built in Weser renaissance style attest to this time of prosperity. During the 16th century under the rule of Count Simon V the region was reformed. In 1621 because of the distribution of an inheritance the region was divided into two, Lippe-Detmold with its capital Detmold and Schaumburg-Lippe with its capital Bückeburg. The two regions were only able to retain their sovereignty with their accession to the Rhine league in 1807. They joined the German customs union and during the war were allied to Prussia. In 1918 they received their free state status from the imperial federation.
Today the Lipperland is the centre of the forest industry of North Rhine Westphalia. The extensive forests also support a versatile furniture industry. Textiles, clothing, synthetic materials, foodstuffs and a growing tourist industry are the economic heart and foundation of the Lipperland region. The East-Westphalia region of Lipperland is an ideal holiday destination for those looking for some relaxation. It lies embedded between the Teutoburger forest, the Egge mountains and the Wiehen and Weser mountains. This countryside lies tranquilly between 50 and 500 metres above sea level.
The visitor is offered a delightful and attractive combination of history and nature. This changing landscape, beginning with mountains, crossing over hills, tranquil ponds and natural streams is a direct contrast to the hectic activity of everyday life. This is a valuable oasis of nature and a variety of wildlife species are found here, including wild boars and deer. Thanks to the initiative to preserve the countryside the pasture and mountain heather is maintained ensuring the well-being of the Skudden sheep.
Particularly well worth seeing are the lovely old towns with their partly medieval buildings that strongle reflect the 800 year old history of the region. The rich cultural treasure of this region is seen in the many old villages, beautifully decorated, lovely houses, castles, historical centres, old farmhouses, museums and churches. It is the crest of this region which perhaps most appropriately reflects the unique, simple beauty of this countryside so well : a red rose.

A Brief History of York by Caron Bednorze

Yorkshire is a picturesque county with mountainous landscapes divided by valleys of rich meadows, the famous dales, open moors, ancient villages and industrial towns. It borders the North Sea from the Humber Estuary north to Cleveland and stretches all the way to Cumbria, Lancashire and Greater Manchester and is England's largest county. In the 9th century Yorkshire was split into North, East and West Ridings, but in 1974 was divided into four parts - North, South, East and West, of which York is the regional capital.
Natural resources have been mined in Yorkshire for centuries and its coal seams are on the edge of the greatest region of coalfields in England. The 20th century saw the expansion of industry, communication networks and road systems on an unprecedented scale, so the landscape bears little resemblance to how it looked when early hunters first set foot here. Before the Roman invasion of Britain, the area that is now northern England was controlled by a confederation of Celtic tribes known as the Brigantes. In AD 71, the Roman governor of Britain, Quintus Petillius Cerialis, sent the 9th Roman legion to pacify the tribes, but instead they faced unrelenting rebellion. The Romans built a fort between the River Foss and the River Ouse where York now stands and called the town that grew up around it Eboracum. Strong protective walls were built, forming the base of the city walls that remain today.
The military significance of York was so important that it remained an army base until 2000, when the government decided to close the army headquarters there. Although some of the historic city's walls and gates were demolished in the early 19th century, there are still some Roman remains in York today, including a ten-sided tower and a few sections of the original walls. Hidden beneath the city, Roman sewers still run, but the majority of the existing city wall dates from the 12th to the 14th century. The rectangular gatehouse of Micklegate Bar marks the main entrance to the city and this is where traitor's heads were displayed following executions.
By the time of the Dissolution of the Monasteries by King Henry VIII, there were more monastries in Yorkshire than any other country in England. The spectacular ruins of Fountains Abbey still provide a glimpse of its former grandeur and bears testament to the skill of the masons. The Romans, the Saxons and the Normans all left their influence on the Yorkshire landscape. The Romans built the roads, the Saxons shaped the countryside with fields and villages that mostly still exist today and the Normans left us their architecture in castles, cathedrals and churches. All this came at a huge cost in blood and suffering and may explain the resilience and strong survival instinct of the Yorkshire people.

Why Is YTB (Your Travel Biz) Going To A Franchise Model? The Answer Might Surprise you! by David Ruth

A while back a friend of mine was all fired up to tell me about a travel related network marketing company he was involved with. He had my attention because I looked at the concept of having my own travel business before. In fact, I set up a travel concept for a company I used to work for several years ago.

It sounds great right... get your own travel credentials, get paid commissions on your travel and get all the perks that come with being in the travel business. So, I was pretty much sold on the concept. But I wasn't sold on getting involved in an MLM. I had tried network marketing twice before, and had not had any success.

A few days after that I had lunch with my friend and the director who sponsored him. They told me how the travel industry is changing and how the Internet and travel was a great business model. He laid out the compensation plan and told me all about the company, and how we would change the travel industry forever.

Honestly, I didn't get a warm and fuzzy. I knew that the travel industry was changing. Anyone could see that. It was clear the Internet was taking over the travel industry, and I knew that travel was the largest industry in the world. That made sense to me, but I still had something in the back of my mind saying are you crazy, you've been here before.

Yah, well I should have listened to that little voice. Several months later after I burned through my "warm market" and made my friends mad, I realized what I wasn't willing to admit to myself from the beginning.

The people I was talking to weren't interested in hearing what I had to say. Think about that for a minute. How in the world can an intelligent person who has any business acumen at all expect to have any success targeting prospects who never asked to talk to them in the first place.

Well, it happens obviously since myself and countless millions have tried on the network marketing hat over the past fifty years.

That's always been the story in the network marketing industry unfortunately. And that's why the industry has such a sleazy reputation.

The reason I am telling you all of this is to illustrate a point. My experiences are what they are... my experiences. But it's these experiences that leave me scratching my head because of the Decisions YTB is considering.

And my experience with network marketing is not the exception it's the norm. Industry statistics show that 97% of all network marketers quit within the first 90 days, and less than one percent of network marketers will make money.

So What Is YTB Doing?

Before I get into the reasons for the companies decision to make the change to a franchise model, let me say this. While I don't know Lloyd or Scott Tomer personally, I have heard them speak on numerous occasions and have been in a private meeting with them and a small group of RTA's. From that interaction as limited as it might be, I believe I have a decent read on them as people.

I believe that they both are men of integrity, based on my observation. And I think when Lloyd Tomer says he wants to create 10,000 millionaires he is sincere. In other words I believe they genuinely care about everyone in the YTB community. If they didn't the people that work at the home office would not love working there so much.

Now, about the changes...

As I see it there are three reasons the company is making the move to a franchise model, and a possible fourth reason that is a rumor regarding increased compensation, and I won't comment on that.

Here is a statement form a July 17, 2008 letter to directors. I have highlighted areas for emphasis.

"We believe a franchise model of our existing business will be easier to comprehend and more readily accepted by the general public. Since franchising is recognized as a traditional business model in virtually all developed countries, YTB's timeline for global expansion will be accelerated. Additionally, franchising will allow us to rapidly diversify the products and services offered by our franchisees. This will enable YTB to more quickly attain our goal of becoming a major distribution channel for products and services sold in the U.S. and abroad."

Based on this statement it's pretty clear that YTB recognizes that there is a perception problem with the public about the existing network marketing business model. It's no secret that network marketing is a dirty word to many people in the U.S.

It has been estimated by industry experts that one in five family members will have some type of experience with network marketing. Considering the dismal success rate and the number of people having been exposed to the MLM business model, it's not surprising that that YTB is looking to a franchise model to meet their growth objectives.

Scott Tomer says that the company is committed to continuing the use of the network marketing system for the reps. I'm not sure how that will shake out with a franchise effort.

My experience tells me that in order to even get a franchise approved there has to be extensive training and documentation for the franchisee. Everything has to be paint by the numbers with no loose ends of ambiguity. It will be challenging to pull that off and keep out of hot water, considering the opportunity of misrepresentation by more than 250,000 reps.

Second, YTB has a desire to expand into foreign markets, and the network marketing distribution model will definitely create problems in many foreign countries. In fact network marketing is not allowed in many countries.

Third, the company wants to further diversify their product offerings outside of the travel industry, and they believe the franchise model will help them do that.

So, what do we make of all this?

My gut reaction would be if anyone can do it, Lloyd Tomer can. He has a history of asking "what if" and then making it happen. Honestly though, I can't understand it. My greatest source of frustration with this company has been their unwillingness to get rid of the network marketing business model.

I don't understand how a principled man like Lloyd Tomer can sit back and allow the perpetuation of what I call "the network marketing myth". When such a small number of people have become financially independent as YTB RTA's and Reps, I would have thought that they would dump the MLM business model.

On the other hand, as a business owner I can understand the lure of the MLM model. The overhead is low and the potential growth rate is impressive. Personally I could not sleep at night knowing that so many people have bought into the "dream" that their down line is pushing.

The company might say that they make no promise of the potential to earn a decent living selling the YTB opportunity or travel related services, much less become independently wealthy. But all of the down lines do create this belief. It's part of the culture of every network marketing company.

They trot out the "diamonds", the million dollar earner and give the impression to everyone that achieving that level of success is possible recruiting from your "warm market". Well, let me tell you it's not.

It load, plain and simple. After I flamed out I started doing some serious digging. I wanted to know how the "diamonds" were able to make it. Are they that much better than me? Is their commitment level that much higher?

Well, what I found is that there is a sub-culture in network marketing circles. I discovered that the vast majority of network marketers move from opportunity to opportunity, and they take a large number of their down-line with them.

Don't get me wrong. The folks that can build a large down line deserve credit. But these people have skills that the vast majority of us don't, and it isn't something that you can teach. You are either born with it or you are not.

So perpetuating this myth that anyone can make it in network marketing, as long as they have a "big enough why" is garbage. Are you kidding me! If desire were the only thing holding people back there would be a whole lot more success stories in network marketing.
Here's what I decided to do

I got off my but and started doing some more digging. I knew there had to be a way to find prospects that wanted to hear what I had to say. People that actually wanted to talk to me, not uninterested zombies who didn't want to hear what I had to say in the first place.

I discovered that I needed a marketing system where I could attract prospect to me rather than chasing them down. Highly targeted prospects that were looking for information. And what I found is called Attraction Marketing.

In this business model I learned how to crate a web of content on the Internet, and brand myself. What I learned is if you don't have a marketing system, you are fighting a loosing battle.

That's why it's so amazing to me that YTB continues down the MLM path. Lloyd Tomer can't possible realize his dream of 10,000 millionaires in his lifetime using network marketing, and I think he knows it.

The company is six years old, and according to the 2007 Income Disclosure Statement, there were less than 50 people in that category. You do the math...

Attraction marketing is a business model that can and does work for the average person. I am living proof of that. There are more than 50,000 people a day who get involved in network marketing some where in the world, and the vast majority of them end up frustrated and disappointed.

There is a huge groundswell of network marketers on the Internet who are successfully implementing Attraction Marketing and having success. Over the next few years there will be millions of the folks looking for help and guidance.

I encourage you to Connect with me to find out if this new marketing model is right for you.
