London is Britain's capital city & one of the world's leading finance, business and cultural centres. as well as this, the city's influence on politics, education, entertainment, media, fashion & culture make it a massive international city.

London has 4 World Heritage Sites, which are westminster palace, Westminster Abbey & St. Margaret's Church, the Tower of London, substantial Greenwich, & the royal botanic gardens in kew.

London boasts a long & fascinating history, which began when the romans established the first major settlement there in AD 43 after the Roman conquest of the uk.

London was especially prosperous in the eighteenth century & it became the biggest city in the world from 1831 to 1925. the expansion of london was aided by London's first railways, which put country towns within easy reach of the city. The rail network expanded really quickly, which made London grow into its surrounding areas & merge with close by settlements for instance Kensington.

Ever since then, London has continued to thrive & it is still one of the world's largest cities.

London is a exciting location for tourists, especially as its got so many museums and galleries. these include the Natural History Museum, which first started in 1881. This exciting museum has some amazing exhibits, which include the famous replica diplodocus skeleton, known as dippy, which is exhibited in the museum's central hall. Another exciting exhibit is the skeleton of a blue whale, which weighs a major 10 tons and is exhibited in the large mammals hall.

London is renowned for its shopping, so you will find everything from unusual independent shops& markets, to designer shops.

One of the city's most renowned shops is Selfridges, which is on Oxford st. It was earliest opened in 1909 by Harry Selfridge, who wanted to make shopping fun instead of just a chore. He succeeded and the shop now boasts four other branches in various cities throughout great britain.

London has exciting culture, which we're sure that everyone will find exhilarating. From exciting culture, to vip night clubs and bars, there's things for everyone to enjoy in London.

One of the most renowned night clubs is the Embassy, which is a private members club on Old Burlington street. The nightclub is quite expensive, but its full of celebs and exciting for star spotting. as well as this, it serves exciting food by michelin starred Garry Hollihead.

Because it's such a enormous location, London is very simple to get to. in actual fact, it's well connected by rail & boasts some large train stations, including London Bridge, London Victoria, London Euston & Liverpool st. in addition to this, the city also has three major airports, Heathrow; Stanstead & Luton.

Driving in London can be hard because of the congestion charge, although the city has a exciting underground & bus network to help people get around.
